The P. Mauriat 18 Key clarinet embodies all aspects of an artist-level clarinet: a left-hand Ab/Eb key, ringless bell for unlimited tonal palette and dynamic constrast, and Grenadilla construction for traditional response and sound. Hailed by artists as having a very ‘free blowing’ feel, players also made note of a ‘silky smooth’ evenness of register, solid key mechanism touch, surprisingly accurate pitch, and overall impression of being “immediately playable right out of the box.” With interchangeable 65/66 mm barrels, ringless bell, and silver or rose gold plated keys, this clarinet belongs in any professional or serious student’s hands, and features a wide, adjustable thumb rest with neck-strap loop.
